do you go to a gym or work out at home?
I hate the idea of paying for a gym membership so I'm always looking for good ways to work out without going to a gym. I read a good article in the July/August issue of Fitness Magazine that has an article on getting slim without the gym -- it had some really great ideas for workouts at home that cost next to nothing. Have any of you read about it? What do you think?

I live in a high rise building so there is a weight room and cardio room downstairs. I find that I've gone to the downstairs gym much more often than when I had an actual gym membership.

There's an awesome state park near where I live that has all sorts of trails/paths (there are a couple concrete ones for walking/jogging, and a bunch of ones in the woods to hike) so I've been going there. I stay anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half and do some combo of jogging/walking/hiking on the various trails. I skipped yesterday because of rain, but I tried to do some jogging around town in areas that would be less likely to get all muddy and gross. I gotta figure out what to do when the weather's really bad, though. My family belongs to a gym, but I've never been, so maybe I should check it out sometime.

I work out at home. I get up early and watch the morning news while either doing cardio on our stationary bike or using resistance bands. Most evenings, DH and I will go for a long walk after dinner. We're in the pool a lot now, so I try to spend some time in there for exercise too.

I love working out at home, but I'm starting yoga classes at a studio nearby tonight! I have a gym in my complex, but it's far to walk and I don't wanna overdo the working out haha

I do both. I try to get to the gym at least 3-5 times per week, and at home I do pilates and yoga. I also walk my dog every day.

I work out at home. I have an elliptical machine at home, and do 30-45mins on the machine. I also do ab crunches, push ups, and tricep dips after using the machine. I plan on getting dumbbells in the future for more weight training. I also walk my puppy every day, although it's a relatively short walk.

I work out at home-I try to give mysel no excuses! 5 days a week I do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD, which is only 30 minutes but is so hard. 1 day a week I go running. This way I have no excuses for the weather! I also invested in good cold weather running gear so I can still head out even if it's 20* out.

I work out at home...I hate the gyms on campus, they are always packed during the times I'm able to go. I haven't been very good about working out lately, but I like to do workout videos and pilates.
